TESTIMONIALS

As a professional speaker, I get to hear a lot of people present. Some with a specific focus on business, some inspirational. What I found with ‘The Power of Story’ is that Gary delivers both. That takes skill. It was refreshing to listen to someone with great passion and purpose. He speaks not just to the intellectual mind but also to your heart. Gary captivates and engages his audience with his ability to paint amazing pictures with words. From sailing around the world to exotic places, working with different diversity of cultures and dealing with life’s ups and downs, Gary weaves principles to live by both personal and professional that emphasizes the importance of partnering with the right people who have the same values as you. One organization he has partnered with is Guinness. What a great story!

None of us could hear the introduction to 'The Power of Story' because of the howling wind and rain outside, but from the first minute Gary spoke that all faded away - even the "hoodies" (the ones who were too cool to be seen to be listening) were hooked on every word he said. As a former management consultant I have had a lot of experience giving and listening to presentations all over NZ. Gary's was among the top three key notes I have ever heard. The other two weren't any better. I think the biggest difference was that Gary's story was personal. We could all relate to it. You could tell by the way everyone cheered at the end. The staff are all keen to do more work with Gary later on this year.

Gary was asked to present ‘The Power of Story’ as part of our inaugural staff team building weekend. From the moment he opened his mouth he had us all in the palm of his hand. We laughed and we cried as he took us with him on an incredibly moving and inspiring personal journey. When we got back to the office, the staff recorded their feedback about the weekend as a whole. For the vast majority, ‘The Power of Story’ was the highlight. Since then, the pettiness among staff and the emotionally reactive behaviour when dealing with difficult clients has all but stopped. Staff work better as a team, get on with the job and manage themselves and our clients in a much better way. ‘The Power of Story’ has certainly played its part in helping our company.
